I would like to start by telling you what HIGSS stands for...
It stands for Hassan Ibrahim Gwarzo Secondary Schools. Two schools, a girls school and a boys school,Owned by a man, the man known as the great achiever, a man of principles, many people regard the school as a one mans school because only he has the final say on all matters. Who is this man?
He is but a man,
Honesty through spirits to the bone
He is firm in decision like igneous rock
He is morally upright, academically vibrant & ethically oriented
He is an example of wisdom, ideologically inspiring & motivating
He is unique in taste, elegant in style & modest in outfit
He is always in fight for the masses progress
He is stepping stone to many peoples success
He is a professional in the field of determination
He is a man of vision & mission
He is a leader with fire in his belly but humanity in his heart
He is instrumental in the actualization of many people dreams & aspirations
He is a role model, a paradigm worthy of emulation
And this man is PROF. IBRAHIM ALKALI AYAGI OFR.
And this man has taken it upon himself to train peoples children like his very own, giving them whats best & the best for them in the hope that he will give the Islamic society what they've craved for a long time. He gave them an opportunity to kill two birds with a single stone,he gave them HIGSS, a school where western education and Islamic knowledge & traditions are merged to bring out the best in every student who is fortunate enough to attend the school.
He is at the school almost everyday and in his last interview, he said 'it was the most significant thing in his life'. Although, presently, such schools have been opened, HIGSS College remains the cheapest and i can proudly say the BEST. We are looking forward to our SILVER JUBILEE & in more than twenty (20) years we have not had something like this, we've always stood out & the name of the school is enough to turn heads admiringly, but a few weeks ago, SOMETHING HAPPENED! We don't know how the incident got out but it DID and since then, the boys school has been closed and it still is. It has been a great disturbance to parents, the school authority and students themselves (both past and present).
The PROF. has always been a strong man, but he is not as young as he was once and yet, some people have taken it upon themselves to add SALT TO OUR INJURIES. We've been insulted, criticized, lied upon and even those we expected to stand for us are turning their backs on us, so i ask:
What do they really want?
Is it the school they want to sieze from existing?
Pardon
me to say this; HIGSS will last to a time yet unknown. If nobody will
fight for us, we will fight, we've always been a FAMILY & we will
fight for our FAMILY. We are going to make it bigger, brighter, stronger
and BETTER. We are not going to sink like the TITANIC, for the titanic
was made by man and steered by man but HIGSS was made by man but steered
by GOD, so we will accept this as test of FATE, we were merely hit not
broken so we are going to stand up stronger than any one has ever
imagined.
As for
the government of kano state, i did'nt know it will take you this long
to investigate HIGSS as I believe this is not the first time we heard of
such incidence from a boarding school in Kano State/Nigeria or even the
World at large. We are glad you made us an exception by taking it upon
yourselves to tackle this issue before it grows, not that we would'nt
have done it ourselves, we've always taken care of ourselves you know
and we humbly admit making a mistake but we WILL avoid any such
occurence in the future INSHA ALLAH.
I'm also
glad to let you know that I've done some digging on my own and i found
out that this is more rampant in Government schools, start investigating
and thank me later.
Lastly,
this man has done this world and the Islamic society a favour, so we
should THANK him and try to emulate him not sit on our fat asses and
accuse him. He is a God sent and we don't expect to see people like him;
transparent, glowing and with wings, so they come in human forms like
us, they come in people like PROF. Ibrahim Ayagi and a few others. I'm not saying he is the best, but his types are rare, very rare.
So
whether you finished HIGSS 1996 or 2015 ( I know it's you it will hurt
the most, the ones there right now are a little bit young to
understand), do a little more protesting and a lot more praying and
ALLAH (SWA) whom we've been taught in HIGSS to always turn to will wipe
our silent tears and heal our aching hearts.
